I know most of you didn’t even know it was broken, and the rest of you don’t care. But anyway, it’s fixed, so that makes me happy, and now I can waste even more of my life on Facebook.

Btw, the misspelling in the title was intended (I don’t know why, but it was).

So lately I’ve been thinking about relationships and people and high school and whatever other crap that comes into my head. Over and over I reach the conclusion that no one in high school, myself included, is ready for a relationship. No matter how mature they think they are, no high school student is mature enough to handle a true relationship. No one in high school knows themselves well enough to know what they want from a relationship. I’m sure many others have reached the same conclusion. So why do we keep going? Why do we keep trying to date and have relationships?

I can’t speak for everyone, but I can tell you my reasons. I keep trying because I am a sucker for love. Love is a magical feeling that makes the giver’s problems melt away, and suddenly only the receiver’s problems matter. If love is mutual between two people, suddenly you’re left with two people with no real problems of their own, which equates to two very happy people. The problem is that at this age love can’t last. It was never really love in the first place, just an unnamed feeling with many of the same attributes but without the long-lasting, dedicated quality. When you experience this feeling, though, you think it is love because it acts so much like it, so you believe that, like love, it will last.

So why don’t I give up? I am, after all, looking for love in a place it cannot be found.

Yeah it was pretty much the best night of my life! I had a great time with Megan. We pretty much walked around the whole time, although there were brief dancing interruptions. We did discover something about each other though:

•  I am an absolutely awful dancer.
• You can make Megan laugh by looking straight into her eyes.

Everybody showed up to homecoming annoyingly late. Megan and I spent about an hour looking around for someone to hang out with. Note to self: come with a group next year. It wasn’t too bad though. We had a lot of fun, and those 3 odd hours flew by really fast.

I lost my train of thought, so this post is done.

So a week ago, my refurbished 15” MacBook Pro arrived. At first glance, it was a dream. This computer is SOOOOOO thin!!!! That may not sound like a huge deal, but every time I look at this computer I giggle inside. The silver aluminum is so much cooler than the white plastic on the iBook G4 that now belongs to my mother.

Now, onto the features. First of all, this thing flies!!! I mean I have never seen such a fast computer. It’s really something you have to experience. Yay! for the Core Duo, although I’m sure the gig of RAM also helps.

The next thing I noticed was the beautiful screen. For one thing, the screen is bright as anything. I cannot imagine a single situation where a person would be unable to see the picture on this screen. Second, it’s very high-resolution! 1440×900 is pretty good for a 15” screen. After using it for a little while, the 1024×768 screen on the 14” iBook made everything look huge.

Next on the list: the ambient light sensor! This is a pretty neat feature. Basically, as the lighting around you dims, the keyboard will light up and the display will dim; the reverse will occur as the lighting brightens. Basically, Apple would like to make sure you can use your MacBook Pro in every possible situation of lighting with as little effort as possible on your part. In addition, this sensor can be used with Virtue Desktops to switch desktops.

Right behind the ALS is the iSight camera. I’ve always wanted my buddy picture and account picture to be a picture of myself, but I am far to lazy to take a picture of myself, load it into iPhoto, and set it appropriately. Photo Booth makes it very easy to rectify this situation. So yeah, pretty cool. In addition, although this doesn’t help me, this camera would be a MySpace user’s dream come true.

I have to say, though, the sudden motion sensor is my dream come true. See, I need to use this laptop at school, and after installing iAlertU, this sudden motion sensor gives my laptop a theft protection system. I paired my Apple remote with the laptop, and now if I hold the “Menu” button on my remote, the iAlertU system activates. When this happens, the screen turns black, and any attempt to lift the computer will set off a lovely alarm sound. Very cool.

Speaking of the Apple remote, Front Row freaking rocks! My MacBook Pro is now my own portable TV (filled with Family Guy episodes). That’s really all I have to say about it.

Despite all this lovely goodness, there was a huge issue with the MacBook Pro I received. Whenever the AirPort card was in use, the computer decided it wanted to kernel panic. So I got it replaced after using it a couple days on Ethernet. Once the old one was in the mail, the replacement was overnighted to me. I received it yesterday and could not be happier! No AirPort kernel panics for me!

So, yeah. I am pretty darn happy with my MacBook Pro. It’s a wonderful machine, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a high-end notebook.

I am surprised by one little thing: both the old and new MacBook Pros both have small bulges on the front of the case. It’s no big deal but I am surprised it is present on both. Oh well, I’m pretty easy going…

A refurbished MacBook Pro is in my not so distant future. I have finally raised enough money from work to pay for half; the other half is being paid for by my grandparents. Why do I go refurbished? Because I can get the same warranty on the refurbished as a new laptop, and I can also get a better laptop for a cheaper price.

My MacBook Pro will have a 15.4″ widescreen, 2.0GHz Core Duo, 1GB of RAM, 100GB hard drive, 256MB video RAM, and various other high quality specs. As for the display, I chose the matte over the glossy. The glossy stuff is just too reflective, and I don’t want to have to be in the perfect environment just to see my screen.

It shipped yesterday, but the warranty and extra battery have yet to ship. It doesn’t matter though, they aren’t that important.

Georgia drivers beware! I am on the road! After failing the test the first time (for reasons that weren’t entirely my fault), I took it again and passed!

I was talking with my friend Jimmy and the topic of Zelda games came up. This inspired me to break out my N64 and start playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time again. Where previously I had sucked at this game, I am now doing rather well. For those who have played, I am about to enter the Water Temple, whereas previously I was never even able to get to Jabu Jabu’s Belly.

Anyway, the game is mighty cool.
